In the second of two semifinal matches at the Prague Open on Thursday, crowd-favorite Linda Noskova holds the chalk and home court with expectations to reach the finals. The Pole was pushed to three sets in the quarters against Tomova, and EJ Garr’s Linda Noskova vs Magda Linette prediction features odds+100 which can be found below.

In a strange twist of events two Poles and two Czechs arrive at the semifinal of this WTA250 event in the Czech Republic, making it more interesting to watch play out.

Noskova is a heavy favorite against Linette with odds as high as -270 to reach the final in her native Czech Republic. Linda has eased her way into the semis without dropping a set in the tournament but now the expectation to hoist the Prague Open hardware is elevated.

Linda Noskova vs Magda Linette Prediction: Noskova Enjoying Home Cookin’

  • Prediction: Linda Noskova -4 Games Handicap
  • Best Odds: +100
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds updated at  7:00 am UK Time July 25, 2024.

Linda Noskova is the clear favorite to win the Prague Open title at -135 and the -270 line against Linette predicts that the Czech native will at least be in the final. While young Laura Samson tries to pull an upset in the first semifinal of the day in Prague, we could potentially see an all-Czech final.

Noskova hasn’t dropped more than 3 games in a set through three wins in Prague, although her second-round opponent Eva Lys bowed out early in the second set to give Linda the quarterfinal appearance.

One reason that Magda Linette should have a semblance of confidence is that the Pole has a win over Noskova from their match on clay in Rome last year. The Polska native features odds of +400 to win the Prague title, and Pinnacle lists the line at +229 on the potential upset in this second semi of the day at this WTA250 event.

Linette’s serve against Tomova in the quarterfinal left much to be desired, as she faced 20 break-points despite the six aces. In ugly fashion, neither Tomova nor Linette could hold serve out of the gate as neither held in the first five games of the opening frame.

That serve is a major concern for me and it will be why Linette gets eliminated in the semifinal today. At -4 games on the handicap, Noskova will have the crowd, the familiarity of home, and the desire to win a title in her native Czech Republic.

With even odds on the -4, even if Linette can push Noskova to 3 sets, it won’t be enough to cover the handicap when the match is said and done.

LINDA NOSKOVA RECENT FORM

Linda Noskova is playing inspired tennis in her native Czech Republic this week with a 6 – 0 sets record. Neither of Linda’s first three opponents could steal more than 3 games, and her sights are set on a run to the title.

Noskova is chasing her first WTA250-level tournament win to add to the other three titles on clay at the ITF level, which includes a French Open girls’s title in 2021 at 16 years old.

Linda has accumulated a record of 45 – 22 on clay and is 6 – 4 on the dirt this season.

MAGDA LINETTE RECENT FORM

Magda Linette takes up the 48th position in the WTA rankongs and hasn’t won a title at any level since 2020.

Linette has two clay titles to her credit and one of those happened here in Prague at the WTA60 ITF level in 2012.

Magda is 13 – 6 on clay this season and has a 83 – 75 record on the dirt through her career.

NOSKOVA VS LINETTE H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH

As mentioned above, the only meeting between Noskova and Linette happened in Rome last year, and Magda pounded out a straight-sets win, 7 – 6, 6 – 1.

Please check out my prediction for the other semifinal at the Prague Open between Magda Frech and Laura Samson, and then we will know our finalists!
