Qualifier Jessica Bouzas Maneiro will be a slight underdog on Monday at the Tennis in the Land event as she takes on Varvara Gracheva in the first round of the main draw. EJ Garr’s Bouzas Maneiro vs Gracheva prediction features odds at -111 which you can check out below.
Bouzas Maneiro smashed her way through qualifying without dropping two games in four sets and the 21-year-old Spaniard has a chance to provide an upset in Cleveland.
Varvara Gracheva was 3 – 0 in Cincinnati before running into Iga Swiatek but Le Mademoiselle didn’t go down without a fight.

Qualifier Jess Bouzas Maneiro landed in the Main Draw of the Tennis in the Land Tournament after two convincing wins out of the third qualifier position. Neither of the first two opponents appears in the top 300 of the rankings (Sahaja Yamalapalli (305) & Eudice Chong (314)), yet some bookmakers are asking -105 on the Spaniard to advance past Gracheva.
When these lines first came out, Varvara Gracheva was listed at -145, and I know this because I usually copy and paste the lines when they come out. With a $30 drop down to -115 the line has fallen and the public wants to ride the Spaniard to the bank.
The bank will be closed because I expect Le Mademoiselle to show up after that effort against Iga in Cincinnati. Gracheva got smoked off the court six games to love against Swiatek in the first set and then something no one expected happened.
Gracheva pushed Iga to a tie-break and won the second set before falling out of the event as a big underdog, and I gained some respect for her game after watching that effort.
If Gracheva doesn’t use that outing to her advantage then the rest of the season might be long for the France native ranked 58th in the WTA Tour.
Jessica isn’t intimidated by Gracheva and I expect the Spaniard to take a set leading to a match that goes the distance. The Over 2.5 Sets prop is the bet to make.
Maneiro was a Lucky Loser in Cincinnati but all that did was ensure that the Spaniard would lose twice in Ohio… and she did.
With wins over Tsurenko and Bronzetti in Cincy, the two losses came against Frech and Svitolina although Jessica has a 21 – 7 record on hardcourts this season.
With 3 titles earned in 2024, Bouzas Maneiro is 44 – 18 this campaign and the 91st-ranked player on the WTA Tour has guaranteed herself a winning record for the fifth straight season.
Gracheva produced a winning record on clay this season and unless she can turn around the 7 – 10 record on hardcourts she might not end the campaign with a winning record.
At 23 – 21, Gracheva has struggled to produce a tourney win for five years running, and it doesn’t look like that run will be broken anytime soon.
This will mark the first meeting between Jessica Bouzas Maneiro and Varvara Gracheva on the WTA Tour.
