There are seven meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with competitive and varied low grade flat racing dominating from Bath, Catterick, Dundalk (AW), Fairyhouse, Kempton (AW), Lingfield (AW) and Yarmouth keeping bookmakers and punters busy throughout the afternoon and evening.
In this article:
Handel
Yarmouth 2:50 (UK time)
Chelsea Banham’s handicapper remains a maiden after 20 career starts, but he is well treated now on the best of his form and caught the eye over 1m2f at Lingfield last time out (rapid headway from rear until his stamina ebbed inside the final furlong). The drop back to a mile looks the right call at Yarmouth on Wednesday under regular rider Joey Haynes, and this Class 6 contest typically lacks any progressive or unexposed contenders.
Odds: NA
Hanoverian King
Yarmouth 3:50 (UK time)
Simon Pearce’s handicapper has been running himself into peak form from a falling handicap mark this season, and he shaped very well on his first try at this 1m2f trip last time out at Lingfield (parked widest of all and finished strongly into a never dangerous fourth). He remains with upside on the turf after just one previous run away from all-weather surfaces, and is likely to get a much more positive ride here from Jack Mitchell now that his stamina has been established.
Odds: NA
