There are five meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday , with competitive and varied jumps action from Ludlow, Perth and Punchestown (second day of their spring festival) sure to attract most of the punting activity. Flat fans have cards at Catterick and Lingfield (AW) to get stuck into, with the recent rain very welcome particularly at the Yorkshire venue (which often struggles to attract decent field sizes).

Regal Blue
Perth 3:00 (UK time)
Jonjo O’Neill’s scopey novice made a really impressive hurdling/Rules debut when winning at Ffos Las in January, and he is confidently expected to defy a penalty under Nick Scholfield. He will relish the step up to nearly three miles now tackling this valuable listed class 1 prize, and his freshness at this belated stage of the jumps season could count for plenty against rivals who have largely been on the go on deeper ground for most of the winter.
Odds: NA
Captain Quint
Perth 2:00 (UK time)
Rose Dobbin’s 7-y-o has won 2 of his 7 starts so far over fences, and will appreciate the better ground expected at Perth on Wednesday (after finding really heavy conditions against him at Carlisle last time out when strongly supported). He remains with scope from this handicap mark, and more positive tactics from Craig Nichol would be a good move against more exposed class 3 rivals.
Odds: NA
