Flat fans have cards at Catterick and Lingfield (AW) to get stuck into, with the recent rain very welcome particularly at the Yorkshire venue (which often struggles to attract decent field sizes).

Jonjo O’Neill’s scopey novice made a really impressive hurdling/Rules debut when winning at Ffos Las in January, and he is confidently expected to defy a penalty under Nick Scholfield. He will relish the step up to nearly three miles now tackling this valuable listed class 1 prize, and his freshness at this belated stage of the jumps season could count for plenty against rivals who have largely been on the go on deeper ground for most of the winter.
