There are five meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with Haydock and Ludlow providing some good quality jumping action on eased decent ground. AW fans have plenty to study through to the evening under lights, with Dundalk, Kempton and Lingfield providing lots of betting opportunities at a low level.

Ludlow 1:25 (UK time)
Venetia Williams has maintained a brilliant strike rate in recent weeks (8 winners in the last fortnight), and her 8-y-o should strip a lot fitter for a reappearance effort on deep ground at Carlisle last month (going with zest on the lead until tiring before the sapping final climb). Ludlow on decent eased ground should be a lot more suitable under the excellent Charlie Deutsch (course and distance winner last November), and a positive ride could soon take these sluggards out of their comfort zone from an early stage.

Ludlow 2:00 (UK time)
Chris Honour’s frustrating maiden has yet to win in 24 career starts (mainly in better class in Ireland), but he has been running well in recent months and caught the eye under a negative ride at Taunton last time out (staying on from an impossible position to take third late on). More positive tactics will be needed here from Bryan Carver dropping back in trip, but the better ground should help him off what looks likely to be a strong early gallop (a few confirmed frontrunners in the line up).
Odds: NA
