There are six meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday , with competitive flat action keeping punters and bookmakers busy all through the afternoon and evening. Fixtures at Chester (start of the popular three day May meeting), Kempton (AW) and Gowran Park provide a mixture of competitive handicaps and maidens. There is NH action from Fontwell, Kelso and Newton Abbot, with the new jumps season getting off to a busy start on decent drying ground.

Martyn Meade’s filly created a deep impression when winning on her second run as a juvenile at Nottingham last October, and looks well worth siding with now stepping up in class in the Cheshire Oaks on Monday. The increased test of stamina over 1m3f seems sure to unlock plenty more improvement, and the first time booking of Oisin Murphy certainly increases confidence that she will go close granted any luck in running at this uniquely turning track.
Odds: NA

Clive Cox’s colt looked one to follow in handicaps when finishing second on his seasonal reappearance at Lingfield in March, and simply raced too freely when disappointing over six furlongs at Newmarket last time out. The drop back to a sharp five furlongs looks the right call, and perhaps a change to positive tactics using his high cruising speed will see him bounce back to winning form under Rossa Ryan.
Odds: NA
