Remarkably for the middle of August, there are only four NH meetings on Tuesday in Britain and Ireland, and the field sizes are likely to be very small as a result on the prevailing fast ground. There are sure to be good holiday crowds gathered at Bangor, Bellewstown, Fontwell and Worcester for some modest fare, as the last few weeks of the school holidays loom into view.

Fergal O’Brien and Graeme McPherson have teamed up to terrific effect this summer jumps season, and their unexposed 6-y-o made a promising hurdling debut at Uttoxeter in June. The winner that day Presentandcounting (and the third Onward Route) have both come out and franked the form in style since, and there should be plenty of improvement in the tank after just three career starts (some signs of ability in a couple of bumpers previously under considerate rides).

He dropped a hint he was poised to return to form last time out at Stratford until stumbling badly on landing at the final fence, and should appreciate this more galloping track on decent ground.
