There are three meetings in Britain and Ireland on an unusually quiet Tuesday, with competitive jumps racing dominating from Newton Abbot and Worcester (both staging interesting summer cards on drying ground). Flat fans have an evening fixture at Roscommon to get stuck into, with the action getting underway at 5.15pm.
In this article:
Ryders Rock
Newton Abbot 3:00 (UK time)
Joe Tizzard’s mare remains a maiden after six career starts, but she has improved of late at this track in fair maiden company and can make a winning switch to handicaps under the useful 3lb claimer Harry Kimber. She will need a positive ride from the front dropping down in trip to two miles (fair second over 2m2f here last time), but this Class 5 contest looks a very weak opening with few of these rivals having much to recommend them.
Odds: NA
Glajou
Newton Abbot 4:00 (UK time)
Neil Mulholland’s chaser returned to something like his best form when second over this course and distance last time out, and a repeat of that should be enough here in a Class 4 handicap that lacks unexposed contenders. Decent ground or faster should be ideal for this smooth traveller, and the booking of Bryan Carver again is a big positive to his chance of snapping a losing run going back to last August.
Odds: NA
