There are six meetings in Britain and Ireland on Tuesday, with the opening fixture at Newmarket certain to attract the bulk of the betting interest. Group action and top tier prize money is sure to draw runners from the top stables, and a sunny and warm weather forecast should mean a big midweek crowd is in attendance at HQ. Elsewhere, there are AW cards at Lingfield and Southwell, a turf meeting at Gowran Park, while Newton Abbot and Tipperary stage competitive jumping cards.

John Quinn’s battle-hardened 5-y-o made a cracking return to action when finishing seventh in the Pertemps Lincoln at Doncaster at the start of the month, and that could just give him a crucial fitness edge over most of these rivals at Newmarket on Tuesday. He is entitled to sharpen for that first run in six months, and travelled through the race like one who is ahead of his handicap mark granted the right conditions.

Amanda Perrett’s 5-y-o has a terrific record fresh, and should get a strong pace to aim at now dropped slightly in trip to seven furlongs ahead of this seasonal reappearance. He is expertly handled by regular rider Jim Crowley, will appreciate the drying ground conditions expected at HQ and remains open to improvement after nine career runs on the turf.
