There are four meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with NH fans in for a busy afternoon. They have Lingfield, Musselburgh , Taunton and Thurles to get stuck into on eased decent ground, with some decent handicaps to solve at the Somerset venue in particular alongside a few potential star novices from the local Paul Nicholls yard.
In this article:
Will Carver
Taunton 2:35 (UK time)
Nicky Henderson has his team firing on all cyclinders as usual (apart from the enigma Shiskin), and his unexposed 8-y-o will relish this test of speed on decent ground at Taunton on Thursday. He remains open to plenty of improvement from this mark after just five starts so far over hurdles (two wins came on good ground), and is sure to be fully fit for this return under Nicole de Boinville after nine months on the sidelines.
Odds: NA
Flash Gorcombe
Taunton 3:10 (UK time)
Robert Walford’s young chaser has won 2 of his 6 starts over fences, and should come forward fitness-wise for his seasonal reappearance on unsuitably testing ground (not given a hard time under a quiet ride). He has winning form at this sharp right-handed track in the past, and this 2m2f trip should be no issue at all under the red-hot Paul O’Brien.
Odds: NA
