There are five scheduled meetings in Britain and Ireland on a very busy Thursday, with NH fans in for an informative afternoon. They have Clonmel, Ludlow, Taunton and Wetherby to study on testing ground, with some decent handicaps to try to solve at the Somerset venue in particular (and the dominant local Paul Nicholls sure to be well represented). AW fans have low grade action to study at Chelmsford , with the lights coming on at 5.30pm at the Essex track and the handicaps looking especially trappy for the time of year.

Imperial Joe
Taunton 3.15 (UK time)
Tim Dennis does well with a relatively small team of horses every winter, and his dual course winner should now be at peak fitness after two recent runs over fences this season. He shaped well over an inadequate trip last time out at Exeter (2m3f sticking to task up the straight in a close fourth), and a step back up to 2m7f should suit ideally under regular rider Sean Houlihan (back to a course and distance where he has always shown his best form).
Odds: 8.0
Little Else
Taunton 3.50 (UK time)
Jeremy Scott’s progressive handicapper has run well in defeat twice since making a winning seasonal reappearance, and has optimum conditions to go in again at Taunton on Thursday. She caught the eye under a very negative ride at Newbury last time out, staying on relentlessly from well off the pace to finish a creditable 4th/16 in a competitive contest, and much more positive tactics are likely to be employed round this sharper track by Rex Dingle.
Odds: 8.0
