There are five meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, with Chelmsford (AW) alone providing some competitive all-weather action to keep bookmakers and punters busy in the evening. Jumps fans have four cracking cards to get stuck into on very testing ground, with Clonmel, Ludlow, Newbury and Sedgefield all putting on varied fixtures with some fascinating runners from the top yards reappearing.
In this article:
Pull Again Green
Newbury 1:50 (UK time)
Fergal O’Brien has his team at the peak of their powers at the moment, and his progressive novice is fancied to defy a penalty at Newbury on Thursday. He posted a career best effort second to Chianti Classico in a hot Chepstow handicap last time out, and his fitness and jumping experience could count for plenty against some less exposed rivals. Liam Harrison is sure to be patient on this smooth traveller, and he can assert after the last on the suitably drying ground.
Odds: NA
Brentford Hope
Newbury 2:40 (UK time)
Harry Derham is very much a young trainer to follow in the next few years, and his smooth-traveller is expected to be primed after 180 days off the track. He was not seen to best effect at Haydock when last seen out under a quiet ride from well off the pace, but still has plenty of upside after just six runs over hurdles, and the booking of the excellent conditional Alice Stevens certainly increases confidence.
Odds: NA
