Ruth Carr’s 5-y-o has only won 2 of his 25 career starts, but he has largely been running with credit in defeat this season and now features on an attractive mark with conditions to suit at Doncaster on Thursday. He raced too freely under restraint at Ayr last time out over seven furlongs (fading late having looked to be going best at halfway), and this drop back to 6f looks the right call under regular rider James Sullivan.
