There is an “after the Lord Mayor’s show” feel to Sunday’s racing action in Britain, with flat cards at Ffos Las and Pontefract likely to attract the bulk of the betting activity. NH fans have Hexham to study, where plenty of watering has been taking place to maintain decent ground.

Luisa Casati
Pontefract 4:45 (UK time)
Tom Ward’s 5-y-o mare did really well to win at Goodwood last month, missing the break and left with plenty to do but finishing strongly to assert inside the final furlong (pair trapping well clear of the rest on the easy ground). There should be plenty of improvement in the tank with that run under her belt (only second run of the season), and the stiffer uphill Pontefract finish should suit ideally under Richard Kingscote.

Roger Fell does really well with a relatively small team of horses, and his battle-hardened handicapper has been running at peak form in recent weeks. He shaped better than the bare result at Chester last time out, never landing a blow having been dropped out, and a more positive ride from Jason Hart can see him defy 9-11 in this valuable Sunday series prize.
Odds: NA
