Marcus Tregoning’s juvenile made a decent start to his career with two promising runs at Goodwood and Brighton, and should be suited by the step up to seven furlongs for the first time at Leicester on Sunday. He remains open to plenty of improvement after just three career starts (very negative ride on latest run to get a mark at Salisbury), and the booking of the excellent Dougie Costello certainly increases confidence that she can get off the mark at the fourth time of asking.

Charlie Appleby’s 2-y-o fhas plenty of quirks to go with his talent, but he looks on a good mark for handicaps this summer and confirmed that with a very promising second at Ascot last time out. A slow break soon had him on the back-foot there, but he stayed on very strongly late and a more positive ride is on the cards here under the excellent claimer Harry Davies.
