She seems sure to be primed for this competitive sprint, with the yard in the middle of a real purple patch (4 winners in the last fortnight at a 16pc strike rate).

2:35	Newcastle	Artisan Dancer	Charlie Johnston’s handicapper returned to his very best form when a close up third at Thirsk last time out, and seems sure to be suited by a switch to this galloping all-weather surface at Newcastle. He has shaped well at this track over 1m4f earlier in the season, and a strongly run extended two miles should suit ideally under Billy Loughnane.
2:50	Newmarket	Verbier	Ralph Beckett’s filly caught the eye under a quiet ride when fourth on her reappearance at Ayr in May, finishing with running left in the tank in a never-nearer fourth. She is entitled to sharpen up for that first run in five months, and will relish the quickening ground assured at HQ on Saturday.

3:40	Newcastle	Greys Monument	Ralph Beckett’s gelding caught the eye on soft ground on his reappearance at Doncaster, and it is easy to excuse a lesser effort in a huge field at York last time out. He won his only previous start on the all-weather (at Kempton last season), and can take advantage of a drop in class here under the excellent Hector Crouch.
