Today’s Racing Tips – November 26th

There are 8 races covered by the ITV cameras on Saturday, with the best of the jumping action at Newbury and Newcastle. The big race in terms of quality comes in the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth at Newcastle at 2.10pm, where some leading contenders for Champion hurdle glory are likely to put down an early marker for the Festival in March. Ground permitting, it looks as though stablemates Epatante and Constitution Hill will take each other on, and there is sure to be a huge crowd drawn to the North East if they do both take their chances. For betting interest, there are some extremely competitive and valuable handicaps for the punters to get stuck into, with the field sizes standing up well after some welcome rain through the week up and down the country.

In this artice:

Today’s Daily Nap

Killer Kane

Newbury 1:20 (UK time)

Joe Tizzard has made a blistering start since taking over from father Colin this season, and his progressive chaser shaped really well on his seasonal reappearance at Exeter at the start of the month. He is entitled to strip fitter for the that first run, and the drop back slightly in trip should be in his favour under the excellent Brendan Powell.

Odds: NA

Today’s Value Angle

Teddy Blue

Newbury 2:30 (UK time)

Gary Moore’s useful flat winner has taken time to get the hang of hurdling, often racing too freely and struggling to get home in lesser races, but he seems to be improving now and can handle a jump up in class to this premier handicap. The stronger pace at this more galloping track should help him settle in the early stages, and the eased decent ground should not blunt his finishing speed after the last.

Odds: NA

Odds are best odds available as at 9am November 26th 2022. Odds may now differ.

1:35NewcastleBig DifferenceTim Reed’s consistent 9-y-o just found Topofthecotswolds too strong last time out at Ludlow under a patient ride, and a repeat of that effort would be enough to go close here getting weight all round.
1:55NewburyLord BaddesleyChris Gordon’s progressive handicapper is building a solid profile in recent weeks, with two cracking efforts in victory and defeat in warm contests, and he seems sure to give his running again with conditions to suit at Newbury.
2:10NewcastleConstitution HillNicky Henderson’s top class novice swerved Ascot last weekend as the ground was thought to be too fast, and he is strongly fancied to beat stablemate Epatante in what appears a straight match on form for this valuable Grade 1 prize. He has been flawless so far in his career over timber, and is sure to be an even shorter price for the Champion hurdle in March after landing the odds here.

3:05NewburyOur PowerSam Thomas has a cracking team of young horses this winter, and his progressive handicapper impressed when making a winning reappearance at Ascot last month. He is a sound jumper and relentless galloper, and the long Newbury straight should play to his strengths from a career high mark.
3:25NewcastleDingo DollarSandy Thomson’s 10y-o shows no sign of regression despite his advancing years, and returned from six months off with a cracking winning effort at Aintree last month. He stays a lot further than this near three mile trip, but they are bound to go a strong gallop up front in this big field and he can pick them off late if able to stay in touch early on.
3:40NewburyAmarillo SkyJoe Tizzard now has his team back firing in the winners, and this bold frontrunner returned with a cracking effort from the front at Cheltenham earlier in the month. He now has a career high mark to defy, but Newbury has suited him very well in the past and he seems sure to take plenty of passing under another attacking ride from Brendan Powell.
