There are six cracking races covered by the ITV cameras on Saturday, with the best of the final day at Glorious Goodwood complimented by a couple of competitive contests from Newmarket. The Coral Stewards Cup is likely to be the big betting race of the afternoon over six furlongs, and astute punters are advised to keep an eye on the early races to try and ascertain any draw/track bias at this uniquely undulating track.

John and Thady Gosden’s progressive stayer looked a cut above a handicapper when sluicing up over two miles at Newbury two weeks ago, always travelling strongly and readily sprinting clear when given the office over a furlong out. He remains with plenty of upside after just five career starts, and a 7lb higher mark should not be enough to stop him following up under regular rider Rab Havlin.

Andrew Balding’s handicapper has become rather expensive to follow in recent weeks, often catching the eye but failing to deliver, but he should relish this return to 6f after finishing with running left in the tank in a huge field at Ascot last time out. The talented 3lb claimer Harry Davies is back in the saddle, and he will be looking to weave his way through late off what is certain to be a blistering early gallop.

2:05	Newmarket	Woodhay Wonder	Tom Ward’s unexposed filly has looked one for handicaps since making a promising debut at Kempton in June, and her opening mark in this sphere certainly looks on the lenient side (with plenty more improvement in the tank after just three career starts).

She should relish the extra 2f in trip under Hollie Doyle, and remains open to plenty more improvement after just two career starts.
3:00	Goodwood	Free Wind	John and Thady Gosden’s high class 5-y-o mare let down backers when hammered in the market for the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot behind Pyledriver, but she had excuses there (dropped out in rear and widest of all when rushed up to close), and can resume her progress in this valuable Group 2.
