Saturday’s ITV action has a 10-race extravaganza for armchair punters, with the best of the jumping action covered from Ascot and Wetherby. Ground conditions seem sure to be pretty testing at both tracks, with the current wet and stormy weather across the U.K showing no sign of coming to an end. The grade 2 Charlie Hall Chase at 3.00 is very much the highlight in terms of quality, with Paul Nicholls sure to be strongly represented, while there are numerous valuable handicaps at both tracks for NH punters to get stuck into.

He has revelled in deep ground in the past from higher marks, and the very wet week has certainly eased the ground suitably from a career low mark.
1:30	Ascot	Sir Psycho	Harry Derham’s useful hurdler fell at the second on his only previous try over fences, but he is well treated if he can put in a clean round and is worth chancing at a big price on this seasonal reappearance.
1:50	Wetherby	Luccia	Nicky Henderson’s high class mare has won 4 if her 6 races so far under Rules, and lost little caste in defeat at both Cheltenham and Aintree last season. This valuable listed prize represents an excellent opening to start the new term after 204 days off the track under James Bowen, and her strong travelling style should be well suited by this flat track on soft ground.

2:21	Wetherby	Dashel Drasher	Jeremy Scott’s stable star has been a terrific servant over the years, and there were no signs last season that his powers were on the wane. He is a dour stayer who goes bets on really attritional ground, and a positive ride from the front by Rex Dingle should make him really hard to pass up the Wetherby straight.
2:40	Ascot	Il Va De Soi	Harry Derham’s former pointer showed plenty of ability in two bumpers last season, and seems sure to be well prepared for this hurdling debut (in a contest where the late betting market is sure to be an accurate guide to expectations).
3:00	Wetherby	Bravemansgame	Paul Nicholls has a fantastic record in these Saturday Graded races over the years, and his high class 8-y-o seems sure to be fully fit after 192 days on the sidelines. He has won 6 of his 9 starts over fences, posting a career best when second to Galopin des Champs in the Gold Cup in March, and relished this course and distance when taking this prize in 2022.

A strong pace up front should help him settle down in the early stages on this return to the fray, and Alex Edwards well be looking to weave his way through late.
3:45	Ascot	Beauport	Nigel Twiston-Davies has enjoyed a terrific start to the jumps season proper, and this 7-y-o appeals as a young chaser to follow throughout the winter months. He has won 1 from 5 over fences so far, revels in deep ground, and was cruising hard on the bridle under a confident ride when taking an uncharacteristic fall at the 15th when last seen out at Aintree in April.
