David Evans 3-y-o handicapper handled very fast ground well when finishing a creditable third here over a mile at the start of the month, and can be forgiven a lesser effort at Leicester last time out in a muddling small field contest (never landed a blow from off the pace). He remains open to some improvement after just nine career starts on the turf, and this lowly Class 6 does look to lack unexposed or progressive contenders in the form-book.

Tom Clover’s unexposed 3-y-o remains likely to improve dramatically granted a stiffer test of stamina over middle distances and beyond this summer, and he shaped really well on his handicap debut at Yarmouth last time out when finishing a cracking second. This stiffer track should suit now upped to 1m4f for the first time from a potentially lenient mark, and the booking of Danny Tudhope increases confidence that he will leave the bare form well behind.
