There are three meetings in Britain on Monday, with competitive jumps action from Ayr and Plumpton certain to attract the vast majority of the betting activity. The drying ground has significantly reduced field sizes, although watering should mitigate the worst of the exceptionally dry spell of weather. For AW fans there is action from Wolverhampton, with the lights coming on at 5.30pm and low grade handicaps dominating.

Anthony Honeyball has his team in terrific form at the moment, and his 9-y-o mare has been found an excellent opportunity to get off the mark over fences at Plumpton on Monday. She ran a career best when second over this course and distance last time out, arguably doing too much too soon on the middle of a strongly run handicap won by the veteran Shaws Cross, and a more patient ride here from Rex Dingle can see her get off the mark under Rules at the sixteenth attempt (0 from 6 over fences).

Paul Henderson’s 6-y-o had been really expensive to follow all winter until a switch to frontrunning worked the oracle at Lingfield last week, and a repeat of those tactics can see him follow up under another attacking Nick Scholfield ride. He will find conditions a good deal quicker round here with the 7lb penalty to carry, but that has not proved an issue in the past and most of these class 5 rivals are easy to oppose.
