There are four meetings in Britain and Ireland on Friday, with Doncaster, Musselburgh and Newbury staging some cracking jumps action on soft ground (with the frost covers down overnight at the Berkshire venue). AW fans have a low grade card under lights at Dundalk to study, with the action getting underway at 5.30pm.

Richill
Newbury 12:40 (UK time)
Dan Skelton’s 6-y-o rounded off last season with a cracking fourth behind Thanksforthehelp in a strong Southwell novice on good ground, and appeals very much as a novice chaser to follow this winter for his excellent yard. He seems sure to be a lot fitter after a promising chasing debut at Kempton last month (with the stable now hitting top form/8 winners in the last fortnight), and the galloping nature of Newbury on eased decent ground should be ideal back over this extended 2m trip.
Odds: NA
Iron Bridge
Newbury 2:25 (UK time)
Jonjo O’Neill’s consistent chaser won 2 from 5 in this sphere last season, and has optimum conditions to make a winning return. The presence of a couple of confirmed frontrunners in the line up should make this a proper test of stamina up the long Newbury straight, and he can overpower these late over the 2m4f trip (proven stayer at three miles+ in the mud last winter).
Odds: NA
