There are 8 meetings in Britain and Ireland on a very busy Friday, with the start of the two-day King George meeting at Ascot very much the highlight.

There are no less than five handicaps on the card at the Berkshire venue, with the Brown Jack over nearly two miles providing a stern test of stamina for some up and coming stayers.

Elsewhere, there is turf action from Chepstow, Cork, Down Royal, Newmarket, Thirsk and York, while NH fans have a competitive low grade card at Uttoxeter to study.
