There are eight meetings in Britain and Ireland on Friday, with competitive top class Group race action very much the order of the day at Epsom on the flat (with the Group 1 Betfred Oaks the highlight at 4.30pm). There are supporting flat cards at Carlisle, Catterick, Chepstow and Doncaster, while NH fans have the hunter chase evening card at Stratford to get stuck into (with drying fast ground expected and the emphasis very much on speed). In Ireland, Down Royal and Tramore stage popular evening meetings over the sticks

Ralph Beckett has his team in blistering form at the moment, and his high class 4-y-o comes into this valuable Group 1 fresh after a cracking effort in the Sheema Classic at Meydan in March. He shaped a lot better than the bare result on his only previous run at this track when third behind Desert Crown in the Derby last summer, and will relish the fast ground conditions expected under Rob Hornby.
