There are five meetings in Britain on Thursday, with jumping action from Catterick and Chepstow providing some competitive action on soft ground. For all-weather fans, there are fixtures at Dundalk, Lingfield and Newcastle, with the floodlights coming on at 4.30pm at the latter venue.
In this article:
Ree Okka
Chepstow 3:00 (UK time)
Harry Fry’s dual winning hurdler has now been turned over at short prices on all three starts over fences this winter, but he really should have won ridden with more enterprise at Ludlow last time out and this represents an excellent opportunity to get off the mark under Jonathan Burke. He showed a liking for this undulating track on good to soft ground over timber last season, and a more positive ride dropping back in trip can exploit a very attractive handicap mark (with plenty of scope to improve as his jumping gains more fluency).
Odds: NA
Thomas MacDonagh
Chepstow 2:00 (UK time)
Jamie Snowden is enjoying an excellent season and has his team in blistering form at the moment, and his 10-y-o chaser should now be nearing peak fitness after two runs this winter (shaped well when fourth at Haydock in a better race last time out). The drop back in trip on drying ground should suit under the excellent Gavin Sheehan, and he is undeniably well handicapped now on the pick of his form back in 2021.
Odds: NA
