There are quite a few games in South America on Sunday night, and I’ve got some goals and result based selections for you to muse over ahead of a busy night. I’ve looked at games in Argentina and Uruguay for this week’s Sunday night acca.

Cerro Largo vs Albion Preview

Cerro Largo have won just once in their last 10 matches. Over that period, their games have averaged 1.7 goals per game, and both teams to score has only landed in three of those matches.

Goals have also been scarce in Albion’s recent games. Their last 10 matches are averaging under two goals per game, and at least one team involved has kept a clean sheet in their last six matches.
Albion got the better of Cerro Largo when the sides met in April, and the home side come into this game rooted to the bottom of the table after the first seven games of the season. Largo may gather some momentum coming into this after securing their first win of the season, but I don’t expect them to be free scoring.

San Lorenzo vs River Plate Preview

River Plate have been disappointing this season, and they have been unable to put a good run of form together. They are currently six points off the top of the table, but they will need to bounce back from consecutive defeats in order to get back in touch with the leaders.

San Lorenzo have drawn their last four matches, and they have drawn six of their last 10 matches overall. Those games have been very low scoring, there has been an average of 1.7 goals in their games over that period.

The last five matches between these sides have seen an average of 11 corners per game, but San Lorenzo’s last 10 matches are averaging just eight corners per game, so I’m expecting a fairly uneventful game here in terms of chances.

Platense have won just three of their last 10 matches, and they have really struggled to find the net over that period. They are averaging just 0.7 goals per game, but they have remained solid at the back and their opponents are averaging just 0.9 goals per game.

Goals haven’t been quite as scarce in Racing Club’s matches, but both teams have scored in just four of their last 10. Racing have won just four of those matches and they have drawn four. However, they have won on their last two trips to Platense, so they come into this as slight favourites.

I’m going to back the same angle as the last game in this. Under three goals in the match and double chance for the away side looks a good bet. Racing Club have been largely difficult to beat, but there has been three goals or more in just one of their last eight matches
