Top-flight domestic action returns across Europe and we’ve got Premier League best bets this weekend. There are some massive matches at both ends of the table for a weekend. The pick of the weekend is the opener, a North London Derby that sees leaders Arsenal host 3rd-place Spurs at the Emirates. That’s where we start off.

Arsenal host Tottenham for a North London Derby like few others. Both sides sit in the top 3 of the Premier League table with seven matches played. The Gunners have won six of their seven Premier League games and come into this one off the back of six consecutive victories at home in the league.
Spurs are one of only two undefeated teams in England’s top flight right now. Antonio Conte’s men haven’t passed the eye test in many of their fixtures thus far but they’re grinding out results and outperforming the data as they so often do.
It promises to be an excellent match. Arsenal vs Tottenham has typically been one of the best rivalries for neutrals in terms of goals and entertainment. Five of the last six Premier League meetings between the two have seen at least 2.5 goals go in.
Tottenham won 3-0 when these sides last met back in May. That was the culmination of a collapse that saw Arsenal hand their top-four place to their North London rivals. Spurs have won each of their last three home matches against Arsenal but it’s a different story at the Emirates. The Gunners won this match 3-1 last season and have only lost one of their last 29 home league matches against their North London rivals.
Goals are an expectation here. The Gunners have produced some exciting matches for their home fans of late. They’ve won six in a row in the league but have conceded in every one of them. I’m adding yes on both teams to score to an Arsenal/draw double chance to bring those odds up above evens.

Bournemouth host Brentford on the South Coast as Gary O’Neil’s time as interim enters its second month. Things have improved for the Cherries since O’Neil took over with five points from three in the Premier League. The expectation is that he’ll stay in charge a little while longer so I’m expecting a drop-off in form. The new manager bounce suggests as much with that initial lift giving way to normalcy.
Brentford provide the right opponents for such an event to occur. The Bees have won three of their last four meetings with Bournemouth and come into this one as the established Premier League side. They lost 3-0 to Arsenal in their final match before the international break but are still on a decent run.
Their away form needs work with no wins in three but they’re still scoring goals. Brentford have scored an average of 1.8 goals per match in their last nine Premier League away games. That’s an extraordinary feat considering they’ve faced teams like Chelsea and Manchester United in that run.
I’m backing the hosts here. The Asian handicap line is at Brentford -0.25 but I’m going one step further and backing them in the 1X2. Bournemouth haven’t scored in either of their last two home matches while the Bees are having no trouble finding the net on the road. Those odds are a little generous.

Crystal Palace host Chelsea for a London Derby. It’s Graham Potter’s first Premier League match in charge of the Blues since taking over at the start of September. His first was a 1-1 draw with Salzburg in the Champions League a few weeks back. The games – and pressure – only amp up from here on out.
Selhurst Park is a difficult place to come and the recent underlying data suggests as much for Chelsea. The Blues have won the xG battle in only one of their last four Premier League matches. That was actually in a 2-1 loss away at Southampton.
The Eagles have lost only one of their last nine home Premier League matches. That was on the opening day against Arsenal. It was the only instance in which Palace have conceded more than once in a match during that run. On paper, it looks like a daunting task for a Chelsea side that hs lost three in a row on the road in all competitions.
I’m still backing the Blues to get that first away win in three here. Chelsea have a dominant record against Crystal Palace regardless of who is in the dugout. This culture and mindset sticks with long-serving players. The Blues have won each of their last nine Premier League matches against Palace. October 2017 was the last time the Eagles snatched the points.
Recent form means that the hosts are only given a quarter of a goal for a match that Chelsea should be the big favourites to win. Add the new manager bounce to that and you’ve got the recipe for a value bet.

This matchday concludes with an East Midlands Derby as Leicester host Nottingham Forest. It’s the first time this fixture has been played in the English top flight since 1987 and it will be an important one. These two sides prop up the Premier League table right now and that will surely still be the case when this one kicks off on Monday.
The pressure is mounting on Brendan Rodgers. The Foxes have had one of the worst starts in Premier League history after seven matches. They’re just conceding too many goals with 11 let in over the last two. The figures are a little better on the road with only five goals conceded in three matches but they’ve taken just one point from that run.
Forest are going through a similar experience of late. That 6-0 defeat to Manchester City seemed to change a side that only conceded five goals in four matches before then. They’ve let in three in both of their matches since then. Worse yet is those games were against Fulham and Bournemouth.
I think we can expect goals here. BTTS and over 2.5 goals has landed in 67% of Leicester’s matches so far this season. Considering the odds for that bet are usually well above evens, that represents value. I think that run will continue here but I’m going for lower stakes.
